Description of plywood grade B/BB:

Grade В –Grade B-the Surface consists of a single piece of veneer of light and even color, almost without defects. In grade B, healthy light knots up to 10 mm in diameter and healthy dark knots up to 6 mm in diameter are allowed. The presence of healthy knots in a small amount further emphasizes the structure of the wood. Dropped out knots and holes of dropped-out knots are not permitted. Open cracks are also not allowed in grade B. The irregularity of the wood structure on the leaf surface should not exceed 10%.
 

Grade ВВ – is intended for processing paints and semi-transparent materials, for covering with sliced veneer of valuable species. In the BB grade, it is allowed to fix inserts from veneer, which improves the quality of the sheet surface. Healthy light bitches are allowed. Healthy dark knots are allowed no larger than 20 mm. Apertures from the dropped out knots allowed by size not more than 6 mm. Closed cracks can be 200 mm long, open cracks can be up to 2 mm wide. Healthy color change, false core should not exceed 25% of the leaf surface. Open knots and defects are cut out and before gluing the veneer are sealed with small oval patches of veneer, the veneer for which is selected according to the color of the face veneer. This variety is widely used in the production of furniture and for decorative finishing (covered with various finishing materials, lacquers, paints).
